about us

Finding Stella entered the San Francisco music scene in early 2000 and quickly established themselves as one of the best original acts in the Bay Area! Their music integrates the classic rock and pop spirit of the 70s and 80s with a newer, warmer rock quality that has been drawing new audiences from along the West coast and beyond.

The sound of Finding Stella is led by the power and emotion of lead vocalist Chris Snyder, backed by lush harmonies and a rich variety of instrumentation, all supported by a driving rhythm section. Snyder along with Lisa Long, Victoria Ovieda and Dave Scott incorporate many divergent influences and styles into their music, smoothly jumping from classic rock to power-pop to tender ballads - all while creating a rich rock sound.

Their first album "Twitch" sold out quickly during 2004; this first effort serves up a huge plate of passionate rock.

Finding Stella is a featured act at Pleasanton's annual Concert in the Park Series, where the band regularly draws in excess of 2,000 fans!

2007 saw the release of the band's second album, "Famous", and their first overseas engagement in Australia at Girlfest, the largest women's festival on the continent. With this new CD, audiences can enjoy a more powerful vocal and musical acuity. The album's 10 tracks deliver a more mature sound, engaging harmonies, and ultimately the talent and passion that Finding Stella is famous for!

In 2008 the band returned to the Land Down Unda to headline GirlFest 2008! A review:

Finding Stella, the rock band from San Francisco, wowed the girls at Girlfest (on the Gold Coast, Australia) with one of the most engaging stage performances seen in a long time.", stated Editor-In-Chief, Sally Hayes, Nicesuitonline.com.

Finding Stella has been voted "Best Bay Area Rock Band" by Hard Rock Cafe, featured on "The Music Channel" and has had their original music featured in the independent film "Beaver Run Cafe". This 6-member band delivers an engaging stage performance, and captivates audiences with their rich and varied original music.

Chris Snyder was a finalist in Rock Star: INXS and with over 100 performances around the U.S. and abroad the band continues to draw fans from around the world. Be sure to catch this band; their live show and tight sound will definitely satisfy even the most discriminating musical appetite!
